Our activities....

How to Crack Professional Examination (HTCPE):

HTCPE is a bi-annual event conducted by the Bangalore Chapter of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (“ICSI”), in association with CS ELITE. This event is held at the Bangalore Chapter premises at a time sufficiently in advance of the June and December sessions of examinations of the ICSI.

At this event, senior members and students of the ICSI render their examination preparation techniques to the participating students. Inspiring guidance is given and useful tips are communicated to the students, enabling them to effectively prepare for their ensuing examinations.

The program concludes with a group discussion, wherein the participating students share their examination experiences with their co-participants.

This event has been well received by the students and the participation at each such event has been overwhelming, encouraging us to explore many more such ideas and programs to facilitate the students in their academic and professional development.

Meet to Know (MTK):

MTK is one of the most successful events conducted by CS ELITE!

MTK is a constant, continuous and a regular meeting of students of any discipline and profession. The time and venue for this event is fixed in advance - it is held every alternate Sunday at 1100 hours at St. Josephs’ Indian High School, Bangalore.

For such meets, a student, elected or volunteered in advance, makes extensive research on a pre-decided topic of professional interest. The outcome of his/her research, results in a thoroughly professional presentation on the topic to the students. The meet is an intense interactive session on the subject in hand.

The discussion includes subjects of academic and professional interest like, Sarbanes-Oxley Act, International Laws, Indian National Budget, SAP, Directors under Companies Act, 1956, Drafting and Conveyancing, Central Excise Act, FEMA, Corporate Governance etc.

The two striking features of this event are the discussion of examination-oriented topics just before the commencement of the examinations and the pre-fixed nature of time and venue for such an event.

Picnic:

CS ELITE conducts a one-day picnic, subsequent to every session of ICSI examination, i.e., twice a year.

The objective behind organizing this fun-filled event lies in our belief that t
here is no better way of making new friends and enhancing interaction amongst the students than spending one whole day together amidst fun and entertainment.

We have visited places in and around Karnataka like Talakkad, Mahakali Durga, etc.

The feedback received from the students for such picnics re-affirms and underlines the importance of conducting such events for the larger benefit of the students.

Picnic is also a reflection of our firm thought that students’ interaction is best promoted at such informal gatherings, which witnesses the making of many new long-lasting friendships. Also, such an event speaks volumes of our approach of having a perfect blend of education and entertainment for the overall development of a student’s professional life.

Cs Elite - A Preface

THE BIRTH OF CS ELITE

February 28, 2003. Lakeview, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Bangalore. Seven students pursuing the profession of company secretaries met together. The students were not familiar with each other, but they met because they had a common PURPOSE - enhancing interaction amongst the students (“Students”) of the Bangalore Chapter of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (“Chapter”). It was an informal meet with the objective of knowing each other and sharing their common perspective on the subject in hand. The meet lasted for around 120 minutes. The result was the formation of a small students’ group – CS ELITE.

Days passed by, meetings continued, discussions intensified, decisions finalized and the unity within the group strengthened. It was unanimously felt within CS ELITE that constant interaction amongst the Students inter se would fructify only if regular activities are organized for the Students to meet and interact. Keeping this in mind, CS Elite has organized various events like:

(a) Bi-annual Picnic;
(b) Seminar, titled “HOW TO CRACK PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION”, in association with the Chapter;
(c) A fortnightly discussion meet for the Students, titled – MEET TO KNOW (MTK).

CS Elite was the proud facilitation committee of 2 All-Karnataka Students’ conference – MILAAP 2005 and MILAAP 2006 and 7th All-India Students’ Conference – UDAAN.

A continuous and an easy mode of communication amongst the Students was the life-blood of CS Elite. The result was the commencement of an on-line yahoo group –
csoutlook@yahoogroups.com, with a modest database of around 10 Students. Today, the group boasts of a database of around 250 Students. CS ELITE’s email id is cselite@gmail.com.

The youthfulness in CS Elite is alive and justified by continuous induction of new members. Currently, CS Elite has ten members within its fold.

Amongst all the success CS ELITE has had since its inception, the most inspiring of all is its very existence for over 3 years and is still going strong…
